Artist's Description
Our Timneh African Grey parrot seems to live in a topsy turvy world. When there is something interesting to look at, he will check it out from every angle but seems to prefer an upside down view. My conclusion is that he is vertically dislexic. He will often get some food in his mouth and hang upside down to eat it. We got him in 1995 as a captive-born chick when he was a few weeks old and it feels like he's been upside down more than right side up all those years, but I know that is not really the case. photograph copyright Renee Trenholm
