Description
The Very Thought Of You is a very romantic song written by Ray Noble in 1934. The most famous versions were performed by Nat King Cole and Billie Holiday. Nat King Cole singing the song runs through my head whenever I look at this little guy. He is a clay figure, rather crudely done (gives him more character), with a head width of about 4 centimeters or 1.5 inches. A fine animal hair, unstyled and wacky, accentuates his face. I think he is just so cute and full of personality. His humble expression seems to go perfectly with the song. Below are the lyrics and you can hear Nat King Cole, among others, performing the song on YouTube.
The very thought of you and I forget to do
The little ordinary things that everyone ought to do
I'm living in a kind of daydream
I'm happy as a king
And foolish though it may seem
To me that's everything
The mere idea of you, the longing here for you
You'll never know how slow the moments go till I'm near to you
I see your face in every flower
Your eyes in stars above
It's just the thought of you
The very thought of you, my love
The mere idea of you, the longing here for you
You'll never know how slow the moments go till I'm near to you
I see your face in every flower
Your eyes in stars above
It's just the thought of you
The very thought of you, my love
