Artist's Description
Lost Souls is a statement I am making for all the poor animals that are carelessly discarded by their owners, or worse, neglected or abused. On a visit to our local animal shelter a few weeks ago, I took photos of this cat. His look of despair almost brought me to tears. I was there to foster a very sick kitty and was not able to adopt this lost soul. Fortunately he has been adopted and will hopefully be better cared for this time. I was so moved by this photo that I wrote a piece of prose and added a grunge texture to give this image a dark, haunting look. photograph/artwork/prose copyright Renee Trenholm
