Artist's Description
Snails are such interesting creatures. I find freshwater snails to be even more fascinating than land snails because of their antics and the various colors and sizes that are available. This photo is of a pair of mini mystery snails. A miniature version of the larger mystery snails and the even larger apple snails that are having a resurgence in popularity after their brief claim to fame around 2005. I feel extremely fortunate to have been able to see and photograph them. The spotted one in the photo is a Grade A Prime specimen hanging out on his buddy. This is a common sight as snails will often crawl onto another snail and take a leisurely stroll around the tank, letting the other snail do all the work.
