Bird Nest And Watercolor Orchids is a compilation of a photograph and digital artistry. I discovered the nest on the ground after a strong wind. Birds had built their elaborate nest inside an empty cardboard box, for privacy and safety no doubt, but they fled the scene when the box was blown over and their nest tumbled out. Somehow the nest and eggs were still intact. Unfortunately, the embryos undoubtedly died during the fall and the eggs would not have hatched if the birds had come back to reclaim their nest. Photographing the nest and eggs was not the most artistic endeavor so I created the scene of an orchid spray lovingly watching over the nest.
The nest was built using many different kinds of grass and debris. I was shocked to see a tiny snake skin inside the nest with the eggs.
